School trip to Verdenskortet
At Verdenskortet, you get the chance to travel around the world – without leaving Jutland!
Take geography out of the classroom...
Why settle for traditional classroom teaching when geography can be experienced in the real world? At Verdenskortet in Klejtrup Sø, you get the chance to travel around the world – without leaving Jutland!
Verdenskortet is not just a fun experience – it is also a fascinating learning platform. With a scale where 27 cm corresponds to exactly 111 km in reality, you can experience the world’s continents and distances in a whole new way. Even if you are standing in different parts of the world, you can still hear and see each other and explore the world’s geography, culture and history together.
This unique attraction is the result of Søren Poulsen’s vision to build a miniature world stone by stone. Part of Klejtrup Sø had to be drained, and Verdenskortet was created with precision and passion – a project that has impressed visitors from all over the world for generations.
Plan your next school trip to Verdenskortet and experience:
- Active learning: Use the area to bring geography and history to life.
- Fun for everyone: Take a walk around the world map, or sail around the globe in the small rowing boats.
- Fascinating history: Hear the story of how the map came to be, and experience Søren Poulsen’s life’s work.
Verdenskortet is an obvious opportunity to combine learning and play. Give the students a day they will not forget!

Sustainable exhibition - UN's world goals
In addition to an interesting way to gain an understanding of geography and scaling by going in depth with Verdenskortet itself, there is also ample opportunity to get the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals under your skin. In 2021, Verdenskortet created a completely new area focusing on the 17 world goals set by the UN.
The area has a vote where our guests can vote on which world goal they think is the most important. Here there is really a breeding ground for many big discussions & feelings.
Verdenskortet is affiliated with the School Service in Viborg, which, among other things, can help with transport from schools in Viborg to Verdenskortet.

A lovely place for both children and adults. A beautiful spot with tons of opportunities to bring your own food or buy some. Plenty of benches so adults can sit down while the kids pet the animals.
